BRITISH HOMES LTD is a traditional plastering company based in London since 2001. Our passion lies in using natural materials to create unique lime finishes that are both timeless and beautiful.
We make and install high performance plasters in a wide range of colors and textures of lime plastering techniques, some of which are Tadelakt, Venetian plaster and Marmorino Floor finishes.

Tadelakt is an old Moroccan plaster technique that creates sensual, natural, and unique effects. Designers, artists, and architects have rediscovered the exquisite surface finish it can produce. The brilliance of Tadelakt aslo manifests itself in building physics: the final product is hydrophobic (water-repellent) and odorless; its fungicidal qualities make it suitable for interiors and exteriors alike. Tadelakt and its versatile design possibilities have hardly been documented.

Simply stated Venetian Plaster is an ancient building material which originates with lime and marble. Lime that can be brought up to a high polish, low polish, matte finish, and smooth to the touch. It can also have a granular texture.
The term Venetian plaster also can refer to the method of application. Natural lime plasters have been around since the time of the ancient Egyptians and peoples of Antiquities. Originally, they were strictly used for the protection of structures. The Venetians took it to another level. They added natural pigment to add a decorative use both interior and Exterior.
The fascination with Tadelakt mirrors a desire for wellness and individual comfort, for lively surfaces, and for the uniqueness of elaborate bricolage.
There are many examples of lime-based plaster floor applications in keeping with the Venetian tradition. Starting with this antique technique, we have combined an application technique with a material to achieve an excellent compromise which retains the esthetics of antique marmorino while adding the durability modern day living demands.
